History

I was introduced to computers when my parents purchased an Apple IIGS. It lacked an operating system at the time, but not long after the IIGS came my first PC (486 Penitum 75Mhz). The PC came loaded with windows 3.11 and after sitting down and seeing what the machine was capable of, I knew that I was hooked. It wasn't long before I was editing batch files, learning the DOS command line, and fixing computers for friends and family.

High School

My interest in computers grew more in high school. I introduced myself into new operating systems such as MacOS and UNIX. It wasn't long after that I had a connection to the Internet and was doing web development and graphic design. In my spare time my friends and I would make graphing calculator games and build map levels for games such as doom and quake 2. In addition to doing this I asked my parents and grandparents to pool their money together for my christmas present, which was to get a home certification in PC Repair. I also had 2 years electronics at the technical center during his time in high school. And obtained a job at the local FOX Television Station working Master Control and as a Broadcast Engineer.

College

I continued my education into college at Michigan Tech University. Right before entering college the mp3 format was released and was gaining much popularity, so a friend and I decided be innovative and created our own startup company. The startup was called Braincube Records and was a internet music promotion label for electronic music artist. Within 6 months Braincube had become the #3 promoter as well as #1 electronic artist station on mp3.com. During my time at Michigan Tech University I continued working on side projects, web design, recording music, etc. In addition to school I also had a job working as an Applications Engineer for a vision guided robotics company, and working for a Geographical Information System Software company doing Roadway Asset Management for the Michigan Department of Transportation. I have also worked as a computer science learning center coach, president of the local ACM chapter, started a Brazilian jiu-jitsu club, was involved with the robotics enterprise, performed summer youth teaching, worked on a senior design project for the navy, and did undergrad research for my professor Dr. Charles Wallace. During a summer break was a Google Summer of Code student working on a case tracker module for the Drupal content management system. I have since finished up my degree from Michigan Tech in the field of Software Engineering, with applications in embedded systems and robotics.

Present

I am currently working as a Vision Systems Engineer. In my spare time I like to still tinker with things such as Linux, xbox mods, networks, open source software, and computers. I also enjoy tracking the current state of Information Technology and their applications as well as other areas of technology such as genetics, robotics, information technology, and nano-technology (GRIN). Any other spare time I have I  spend playing with my big yellow lab "Fuse", playing guitar, practicing brazilian jiu-jitsu and muay thai kick boxing, and playing video games.
